Challenge-based learning (CBL) is increasingly used in higher education, connecting students with real-world partners to address complex issues like sustainability. Uncertainty-stemming from diverse perspectives, political shifts, and evolving technology-is an unavoidable part of such complex challenges. This workshop explores the role of uncertainty in CBL and strategies to help students navigate it. In this workshop you will: (1) gain insights into uncertainty and their attitudes toward it, (2) practice identifying different types of uncertainty in CBL, and (3) learn regulation strategies like scaffolding to support student learning. Through collaboration, we will develop practical approaches to integrating uncertainty into CBL environments.
