The Avans Innovative Studio (AIS) at Avans University of Applied Sciences offers a dynamic challenge-based learning environment where students collaborate with industry partners to solve real-world problems. Grounded in social constructivism, design thinking, and studio learning, AIS fosters interdisciplinary teamwork, rapid iteration, and practical problem-solving. Students engage in two-week project cycles, developing prototypes, applications, and strategies with professional mentorship. This model enhances adaptability, creativity, and resilience, bridging academic and industry practices. With a track record of over 250 partnerships, AIS demonstrates how structured, experiential learning can prepare students for complex challenges in today’s rapidly evolving job market.
