REFLECTIONS ON ITERATIONS TOWARDS A CBL METHOD IN DATA SCIENCE & AI PROGRAM FOR PROFESSIONALS

Practice paper 04:15 PM - 04:35 PM (Europe/Amsterdam) 2025/04/07 14:15:00 UTC - 2025/04/07 14:35:00 UTC
This paper examines the use of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in the Data Science & AI professional education program at Eindhoven University of Technology. Running since 2017, the program integrates PBL principles to address challenges like diverse participant backgrounds, limited study time, and understanding machine learning concepts. Using an adapted Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) framework, the study explores how transitioning to CBL could enhance flexibility and problem-solving skills. CBL’s real-world focus fosters creativity and adaptability. The paper concludes with reflections on leveraging PBL’s foundations for CBL implementation and suggests future research on its impact in professional AI education.
