How to implement Challenge-based Learning to foster Entrepreneurship Intentions of VET students? - An empirical study at three vocational schools

Research paper 04:05 PM - 04:25 PM (Europe/Amsterdam) 2025/04/08 14:05:00 UTC - 2025/04/08 14:25:00 UTC
Challenge-based Learning (CBL) is a promising approach for Social Entrepreneurship Education in Vocational Education and Training (VET). This study examines the implementation of CBL in three VET courses and its impact on students’ entrepreneurial intentions (N=44). Using standardized surveys, differences in CBL implementation were analyzed across seven dimensions of the CBL Compass. Results indicate variations in authenticity, complexity, and stakeholder involvement (RQ1). Additionally, changes in entrepreneurial intentions varied between courses (RQ2), with one course showing a significant positive increase. The study highlights the potential of CBL for VET students and emphasizes the need for further research on optimal course design.
